I’m calling around to get prices on window tint for my 2010 civic and the lady told me something interesting, in that if the tint contains metal, it can interfere with the FM signal. I called up the local honda dealership to double check and sure enough, the 2010 honda civic FM antenna is located on the back windshield glass.

I was at a bar over the weekend and what do you know, I had to piss.

This wasn’t the first time that I found myself reading the advertisement over the urinal. Too bad for the company, I can’t remember what it said to save my life.

And so, being a marketing and advertising consultant, I thought I would chime in with my thoughts about marketing to pissers.

When talking about ads and whether or not to do them, companies try to answer a thousand or so questions before making that choice…and I’m having a hard time going through the answers that led them to putting their advertisement at my eye line.

We know a few things. One being that there is 95-100% chance the guy will read the ad. I mean, how could you not? It’s written in guy code to look forward. I think this is the only thing companies are looking at when paying for these ads. But is it worth it?

First of all, lets remember that this is a bar. And what do we do at bars? We drink. And what does drinking do? It kills your memory. And whats important for the advertiser? That we remember the ad! I mean sure I’ll read it, but the second I leave the bathroom, its gone and so is your marketing budget.

However, there is one exception where piss marketing works great- upselling. The ad has only a few minutes to sell me on something and make it available. Any ideas what this good be?

Alcohol.

If I’m at the bar, chances are high that I like to drink. And if I see an advertisement that is good enough to sell me on some kind of drink, then I can march straight to the bar and order it.

Lesson Learned.

Sure, it would have been great to win, but Chris Shaw will be great for the economy.

People like Chris will do wonders for the economy. He’ll most likely do whatever he can to stupidly piss away all that money…which will actually be great for everyone. He’ll probably buy a few ford and chevy pickup trucks, a few houses and tons of clothes (hopefully some new teeth too).

I have a stock that I bought a ton of for only a buck forty. It jumped like 50 cents a few months ago, like right after I bought it and I was stoked. For the week after that, I was doing nothing but looking at buying a ton of cheap stocks. Which got me thinking. I know how huge Google has become..but what price did they start at?

Well August 19, 2004, Google offered 19,605,052 shares of Class A common stock for the first time at only $85 per share. In 04, I might have been able to spare like 2000, but still, I would’ve been able to buy like 22 shares.

At today’s price of $550 a frickin share, I would’ve had a $121000. Fu^K. Just think if you had 10k to throw down.

I was bored at looking at buying a few domain names. If it was available, obviously someone would have it, but why isn’t www.a.com or www.1.com available? I went to whois and it said that these are RESERVED by INTERNET ASSIGNED NUMBERS AUTHORITY.
