WebCam for dummies is Crap
It just pisses me off when you go out of your way to do something for a specific reason and it doesn’t fucking work out.
Let’s say that you spend 100 bucks to buy a nikon tripod because you thought you needed that specific one. Little did you know, you could have bought ANY tripod because there is a universal size for camera mounts and the dick at best buy never mentioned it.
Anyway, so my girlfriend bought her dad the webcam for dummies (model 49052-DM). She bought it for the exact reason anyone would buy the items labeled in this brand.

We’ve been working on it for a week now. Not only is the actual webcam a complete piece of crap, it doesn’t install properly on any of our computers. I didn’t go to MIT, but I would say I know more about computers than anyone I know and I can’t get it to work. The thing is made by Sakar..which makes a variety of cheap Chinese shit. Their website sucks and responding to our email, sent us back the contents of the installation CD.

a quien se le ocurrio hacer una camara con un disco de intalacion mini que no puede ser inatalada facilmente con cualquier compu solo a un doomie o mejor dicho mierda.

yeah, this thing sucks. installed like a charm on the vista machine, but good luck with XP. how hard should it really be??

OMG! you pay 20 dollars for this piece of shit i meen seriously i could buy a better one for 30 that would work better then this. ! ive been trying to work this fckiin bullshit for over a month … i wanted to get my money back but the store said this company doesnt allow returns ! if i had a possible way to sue them i would!!! :O

Yeah this is a POS, parents sent it to me so I could talk with them on video with skype and the installation is crap, its for a completely different camera, the 49152 which is one of those ball webcams one normally sees.

el disco que trae no funciona
intalen este driver
ese le hace a la camara no desesperen ahi este el link……. dice otro modelo pero funciona con la camara

para los que hayan adquirido esta camara y no pudieron instalarla aqui les dejo el controlador
que encontre en la red y funciona con esta camara 49052-dm drivers

I have this camera and it will not install either. I tried to download the drivers from the 4-share site but none of the exe’s will run to install anything. Can someone please help?!

I got it to install and work using the driver that came with the camera but I do agree, the camera is about as cheap as they come.
I guess I can’t be too disappointed though. I only paid $10 from Marshalls.

I purchased the Sakar 49052-DM WebCam at Marshalls just 3 hours ago. Got home a few minutes ago and ran the install CD on a Dell PC running Windows-XP SP-2, following the directions in the Owner’s Manual and in the install program exactly. When the driver and software install was finished, I plugged the camera into a USB porst and it worked precisely as it was supposed to perform. The image is quite grainy at full screen, but that’s to be expected as the camera only produces an image of 640 X 480 pixels. What would one expect for $5.00? In the normal display window, the image is quite acceptable.
For those having problems with this product, try reading and following the installation instructions precisely. This means Do Not plug the camera into a USB port until the driver install program has finished.
